About this vaccine

Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is one of the most common infections worldwide. Certain strains cause cervical cancer, throat cancer, anal cancer, and genital warts. The HPV vaccine is most effective when given before any HPV exposure, but it provides meaningful protection up to age 45. Our doctors will advise on the right schedule for your age.

Who should get vaccinated

  • Girls and boys aged 9–14 (highest benefit)
  • Young adults aged 15–26
  • Adults aged 27–45 (discuss with doctor)
  • Those who have not completed their HPV vaccine series

Common side effects

Most side effects are mild and resolve within 1–2 days.

  • Pain, redness, or swelling at the injection site
  • Dizziness or fainting (sit for 15 min post-injection)
  • Headache or mild fever

Frequently asked questions

How many doses of HPV vaccine are needed?

2 doses if the series starts before age 15 (6 months apart). 3 doses if started at age 15 or older. Our doctor will advise based on your history.

Can adults over 26 get the HPV vaccine?
